Hang in there

I see this more and more as time passes. I can now look back at times of utter despair and hopelessness in my life and realize that those times directed me to where I was  meant to be at this moment. So when you are being knocked around, whether it be in your professional life, relationships or you just don’t feel like you are the person you want to be, Hang In There. Where you are today is not a direct reflection of where you could be tomorrow. Relocation of yourself may take weeks, months or years, so hang in there during the shaking and rearranging of your world.

  1. Finally you posted something. I’ve been waiting… Love this!!! Hope and faith is all we have when things get really bad.

Ha, yeah I hadn’t felt the urge lately and my grandma was quite sick so time was scarce. True statement there Shian. Great to hear from you! :).

    I agree totally, Robert.

The other thing is that no matter what happens, be open to possibilities. If you’re not open to change, it will never happen. If you want your life to change, you have to make the effort to do something about it. In your own situation, Robert, that took an enormous amount of positive thinking and determination. Some people just get lucky, but these are few and far between. A Good Life or Relationship take effort.

One of my favourite quotes on my own blog (under “Favourite Quotes”) is “Man cannot discover new oceans until he has courage to lose sight of the shore”.

Another one is “Its never too late to become what you might have been”.

Every now and then, when my life, or health, takes a dive for the worse, I re-read my own blog page to remind myself how far I’ve come since having to give up my job and live on a Disability Pension.

Yesterday, for the first time in months, I had strong & debilitating chest pain walking home from the nearby Botanic Gardens. I had to walk about 20 feet and stop, rest, and then continue. Sometimes I had to stop and sit down for 10 to 15 minutes. So, what should have been a 20 minute walk from the far side of the Gardens, a relatively easy walk in the last couple of years, took me about 1 1/2 hours. This need to keep stopping and resting hasn’t happened in nearly 4 years. It was a ‘once-off’. It was a bit hotter outdoors than I had anticipated too.

If I didn’t persevere, I would be almost housebound, staring at the TV or 4 walls every day. As it is, now I have a rewarding and highly enjoyable Photography hobby which takes me out & about exploring the inner city and bayside areas I can reach via public transport (albeit walking slower than most people).

Sometimes we have to take ‘baby steps’ to get to the bigger picture in life, but in dealing with life’s obstacles, you just need to ‘find the key to open the door’.

    awesome words… you’re FOREVER righttt ❤

  5. I completely agree with what you said, and I have had many of those shaken times too, and strangely they do seem to relocate you, alter your thinking, and sometimes the people around you too. I just wish when I was in some of those bad moments, I had a quiet reassurance that I would come out better for it the other side, but that’s often missing, at least in me it always was. I think those times are our ‘university of life’! Our greatest lessons.

Good to see you posting again!! 🙂
