Running the gauntlet (so to speak) is not my forte, not even to my dreams…for starters with my dodgy knee I’d get pinged every time. Re: this image, the way I see it one can either follow the path knowing the “obstacles” that await or one can go into “stealth” mode – change the path, modify the plan…and sneak behind! πŸ˜‰ Going off the beaten track doesn’t mean you’ve given up, it only means that it may take a little longer to achieve your goals. At the end of the day the dream will always be there waiting for you make it a reality, whichever path you take and whenever you take it. There is no time limit on dreams. Speaking of dreams…it’s zzzzz-time for me.

haha, “pinged”. i think there are times when we must fight for what we want, but i also i agree with and enjoyed what you said about rerouting and stealth while still heading towards your goals. one my favorite Confucius quotes is “it doesn’t matter how slow you go just so long as you don’t stop. hope your zzzz were plentiful πŸ™‚

β€œPinged” as in I’d get caught every time. πŸ˜‰ Don’t get me wrong, I fight for what I believe in, passionately so but I have learned to look for the path that will cause less stress to myself and others, especially my family. Rerouting and stealth, like a ninja crab…with red hair, kinda. That describes me perfectly. πŸ˜‰

      • Rahburt says:

ha, i know what you meant! i just liked your word choice to describe it. haha, and she strikes again with ninja crab! but yes i get what you’re saying and i also take such an approach, but with light brown hair πŸ™‚

Isn’t that the truth! πŸ˜‰ I like this illustration. Very cute and clever.

  3. Mm… he looks like he’s about to have a complicated journey down that road! It’s interesting that relatives are very near the beginning of that journey. Strange how the closest people to us can certainly be the first and sometimes the largest struggle we have. I’ve not had too much of that – but there’s always one, you only need one to create a seed of doubt in yourself! And fear really is the last thing we face, either in any one situation or that final moment of our lives. I’m wondering if it were possible to completely knock fear out of our mind, none of the others would be quite so relevant – especially the boss! Fear must be behind them all, in one way or another. But I suppose some would disagree that fear is a problem, because it’s the one thing that creates motivation for them, and if I’m totally honest, it probably does in my mind too – sometimes! πŸ˜‰

The longer I look at that picture the more I can see in it, might be a good one to pin on the wall, or have it as a PC wallpaper! πŸ™‚

    • Rahburt says:

ha, yes it looks as though it is huh. good thing or future difficulties are labelled like this prior to our pursuit of them. or it may be useful because then we could prepare ourselves. my family is quite supportive also. very insightful concerning fear because it does seem to be underlying many of things illustrated here. i know sometimes i’m my own enemy when there aren’t any. dang it! stop it Rahburt, ha.

Animals don’t fight unless they are cornered so I would give all these obstacles a long and boring wait and follow the easy course in the opposite direction, following my dreams without explanation, approval or support. No one is ever going to understand your dreams and we can never leave our dreams behind because they are the stuff that our life is made of. It is not the destination that is important it is the journey so make it a fun one.

    • Rahburt says:

awesomely said. i really liked your point of view here. sometimes i find it easier or more peaceful to keep my dreams to myself as i pursue them because i am the one that they belong to anyways. they are free from outside scrutiny there. although sometimes i analyze them enough as it is.

      • windhound says:

A thought is a thought is a thought. Sometimes they have meaning and sometimes they don’t. I tend to go with the thoughts that appeal to me and if nothing fits that category I start looking out for some simpler new ones. This will always take you to a gentler place where solutions to past problems often happen spontaneously when you are not even trying.

      • Rahburt says:

you have some great insight and seem to be someone who looks at things from multiple points of view. great stuff.

  5. A reality for all of us.. It’s a fight.
