I think these would be pretty cool to have and a definite conversation starter. You’re creating from something you’d throw away anyways. It’s recycling at it’s finest.
Turn a Beer Bottle Into Drinking Glass
Warning: this stunt involves sharp edges, breaking glass and fire. But if you’re careful, it could also involve fun.
STEP 1:
Pick a brand with a sturdy but attractive bottle. Tie a string tightly around the empty bottle just above the label.
STEP 2:
Slip the string off and soak it in lighter fluid. (Keep your fingers dry!)
STEP 3:
Put the string back on the bottle and light it. Hold the bottle horizontally and rotate it so the flame spreads. Wait to hear the bottle crack slightly, about 10 seconds.
STEP 4:
Pour cold water on the string. The top of the bottle will fall off.
STEP 5:
Sandpaper the edges until smooth.

I’ve cut bottles before but have never been able to sand the glass smooth enough to drink from it. What is the trick on sanding it smooth?
